Abbey Sporting is founded upon passion for shooting and the outdoors
We take pleasure in organising and hosting some of what we believe are the most unique and fantastic simulated game shooting experiences - delivered with a personable and professional service. Abbey Sporting was established by two friends Toby Bell and Henry Birkett in 2020 as they saw opportunity to produce premium and exciting shooting experiences. Although half the summer of 2020 was curtailed by the COVID-19 pandemic period, Abbey Sporting working within government guidelines ran multiple days which proved hugely successful within a safe outdoor environment.
Drawing upon our portfolio of some of the best shooting destinations in Yorkshire, our objective is to create the finest shooting experiences.
For us shooting is not only about pulling the trigger, it is the whole package which includes hospitality too. We hope to inspire you and arrange the very best an most memorable shooting experience. Toby Bell
Director
Toby has grown up in North Yorkshire, working in the family owned gun shop Northallerton Shooting and helping to run and organise shooting and social events on their farm at Breckenbrough. He has also worked and gained invaluable experience at businesses such as EJ Chuchills on the ground during the World Compak Championships, at game fairs and during simulated game events.
Toby completed his degree in Agri-Food Marketing in 2019 at Harper Adams University and after graduating returned to the field taking a position for the 2019-20 season at Rievualx.

Henry Birkett
Director
Henry has grown up in North Yorkshire, with their own family shoot Rievaulx, this has given him a solid grounding on one of the best game shoots in the UK. Henry quickly learned that quality and customer service is paramount to ensure the best possible shooting experience is had across all aspects of the day.

Dave is a bog part of the Abbey Sporting team. Top loader, instructor and ambassador for the sporting, a proper gent.

You want realistic simulated game targets.... With more experience in the field then anyone we know. Dave is responsible for helping set our drives and to make them as similar to the real thing as possible.
Jack Britnall
Shoot Manager
A new member of the Abbey Sporting team Jack brings years of experience both instructing and course setting.

Starting out at EJ Churchills and leaving 8 years later Jack is not only a AA shot and qualified instructor, he is one of very few trained to instruct personally by George Digweed!
​
Seasoned in the field, Jack brings fantastic experience to improve Abbey Sporting's service further.
Jason Leith
Shoot Manager
A fully qualified CPSA Level 3 Advanced Senior Coach, Jason has been providing professional instruction for clients on a daily basis for the past 5 years.
​
With nearly 30 years of competitive clay and game shooting experience, he is also a qualified loader and throughout the game season, you’ll find him providing in-field instruction on estates throughout the UK.
A qualified referee and member of the Institute of Clay Shooting Instructors (ICSI), Jason is currently undertaking the CPSA Instructors Tutor Pathway Scheme, which will enable him to instruct future CPSA instructors.

Jason Leith has recently founded his own company JVL Clay & Game which brings both fantastic experience and top of the range bowman traps to set some of the best simulated targets in the UK.

If you decide that you want to have a professional photographer to accompany your day we will organise this for you.

All of the photographers understand the importance of capturing the best shoot day. Once pictures have been finalised and finished we also offer the option of a photo book made. This isa great way to show friends and family what a fantastic day you have had.
